Altered States of Consciousness
After learning about the altered states of consciousness, I learned a lot of new methods, other than sleep, to do this. On the weekends sometimes I go to yoga with my friend, which is a way that I relax and can alter my state of consciousness. While doing yoga, I am very in touch with my inner self and I am very aware of all of my senses and my body. It helps me to clear my thoughts, relax, and escape the realities of the world for 45 minutes. I have learned that there are many alternatives to doing drugs that can alter your states of consciousness in a healthy and natural way. In order for me to experience more "flow" experience, I can read a book that I enjoy. When I read books that I am immersed in and that I enjoy reading, I lose my perception of time and my surroundings, and it feels as if it is only me and the book that's involved. This feeling is nice to have sometimes because all of the other emotions, feelings, and thoughts that I normally have going through my head are not there anymore. I really enjoyed watching the presentations and I thought that they were informative. I learned a lot of new things and found it worth while.
